Exploring Paradise: Island of Oahu

Writer's picture: Varsha SVarsha S

Oahu Island of Hawaii is the jewel of the Pacific! The island provides a very lush, vibrant, and unique blend of natural beauty, rich culture, and adventurous opportunities. Through my journey to Oahu Island, I will take you on a captivating journey through Oahu, sharing our favorite destinations, activities, and tips for making the most of your visit to this tropical paradise.

Here is our list of the best places to visit Oahu Island if you have 4 days on this island of Paradise:

Beaches

Waikiki Beach

One of the most popular beaches at the heart of Oahu is Waiki Beach. This 2-mile-long beach is family-friendly and ideal for swimming, surfing, and boogie boarding. There are lots of hotel options in and around the beach and it is indeed a very ideal location to stay and enjoy nearby areas and nightlife.

Waimanalo Beach

If you are looking for stunning crystal clear water on the beach with a beautiful landscape, you are at the right place. Waimanalo Beach offers miles of white sand to walk with a very picturesque landscape.

Lanikai Beach

The Lanikai Beach offers a brilliant picturesque color of water. We went twice to this beach during our 4-day stay as we loved this beach so much— breathtaking photography opportunity for photographers and swimmers and surfers alike.

Adventure Sports

Kualoa Ranch

It is famous for its picturesque landscape and most famous for Holywood movie site for many iconic movies like Jurassic Park, Lost, and King Kong to name a few. Movie Site tour is one of the most family-friendly tours that you can do here. Apart from this, one can also use their ATV tours to explore scenic valleys. Kualoa Ranch also offers a horseback riding tour that will take you through the lush green scenery offering breathtaking views. Adventure seekers can enjoy the zipline tours on the ranch.

Diamond Head State Monument

This is one of the most iconic landmarks of Oahu and the most popular destination on your visit to Oahu. The primary attraction at Diamond Head is its hiking trail that leads to the summit of the volcanic crater. The trail is about 1.6 miles (2.6 kilometers) round trip and is moderately strenuous. Hikers are rewarded with panoramic views of Honolulu, the Pacific Ocean, and the surrounding landscapes from the summit.

Parasailing

I did my first parasailing on the Pacific on my trip to Oahu and it was such a terrific experience. Believe me, you are going to enjoy parasailing here.

Snorkeling

One of the most popular spots for snorkeling in the shallow water is Hanuma Bay. There is an admission fee to enter Hanauma Bay, and the park has limited hours of operation. It's essential to check the opening hours and fees in advance, as they can vary. Also, a parking lot at Hanuma Bay can fill up very quickly.

Food and More

Do not forget to eat Pineapple if you are going to the Dole farm. It is extremely fresh and far more delicious than I ever had in my life. Shaved Ice is also very famous in the island, but the Island's vintage ice cream shop is out of the world.
